“Newsmaker of the Day”
So today we give the imaginary “Newsmaker of the Day” cactus to a Pittsburgh woman who sued Kmart.
If you go back a few weeks, you can see why I hate Kmart. So does that Pittsburgh woman.
See, Pennsylvania state law says that says that while paper products are taxable, toilet paper is not. Kmart is fascist and therefore doesn’t abide by laws created by a democratic government, so they charged a sales tax on toilet paper.
The woman’s 12-pack should have been $3.99. She was charged $4.27. Twice.
After that second time, she decided, “Screw Kmart. I’m suing.”
She didn’t sue for her 56 cents, rather she sued for $100 [[the maximum allowed]] and court fees.
Kmart tried to buy her off with $350.
She took on the fascist conglomerate — and today, she won.
So we give the inaugural — and imaginary — “Newsmaker of the Day” cactus to this woman. If we could, we’d also give her a 12-pack of double-ply… from Wal-Mart.

Unless she has a septic and needs single-ply.
However, she is my hero.
