Don’t tell James, but I think Heath Ledger is gorgeous. That scene in 10 Things I Hate About You, when he’s singing down the bleachers, oh gosh, it made my heart happy. Heath Ledger is this beautiful man — despite the fact that my old friend’s friend apparently smoked weed with him once and it turned out he had acne-filled skin. I never quite believed that. Heath Ledger, an Adonis if you will, would not have bad skin. And even if he did, I’d still call him lovely to look at.

And the fact that him and BFF Jake Gyllenhall had sex in Brokeback Mountain didn’t stop me from wanting to make out with Heath [[even if his name was the same as a candy bar — toffee and chocolate is a great idea]].

Forgive me if waxing poetic over nice cheekbones isn’t a proper memorial. I’m not quite sure what is.

I read a bunch of comments from actors and directors who worked with the 28-year-old, who passed away on Tuesday perhaps due to an accidental overdose of Ambien, and they all spoke of how talented Heath Ledger was, how he didn’t let the fame and glory go to his head. He just seemed like a very goal driven, level headed guy, who, unfortunately, maybe needed help sleeping at night.

Heath leaves behind Michelle Williams, who he split from last year, and their daughter, 2-year-old Matilda.

And I’m sad.

I don’t know why, except my guess is that Heath Ledger wasn’t one of Hollywood’s messes. Anna Nicole Smith, you expected her to die early; I mean, I’m partially surprised she lasted as long as she did. And when Britney Spears parts this earth, well, we all saw it coming; she’s had one foot in the grave since she shaved her head.

But Heath Ledger, his life was taken way too soon.
